At Hood Branco Innovations, we’re dedicated to helping today’s busy families maximize the enjoyment, comfort, convenience and value of their greatest investment: their home.

HBI designs and installs user-friendly, high-performance systems for home theater, audio/video, computer networks, lighting, temperature, and home/office control. We’re not just retail salespeople; we’re experts at configuring, installing and supporting home theaters, along with audio, network, and control systems for both homes and businesses.

The company was launched in January of 2005 by partners Brian Hood and Dwight Branco, who bring complementary skills to the organization--along with a compelling vision of making the Internet-connected “smart home” an affordable reality for every homeowner.

Prior to co-founding HBI, Hood was a sales professional for the software firm AllData and a financial analyst for Investors Bank & Trust and Sanmina-SCI. IT veteran and HBI co-founder Branco served as an IT Supervisor and Senior IT Support Professional at Spectra-Physics Lasers in Mountain View.

“With the recent introduction of affordable, wireless products for home control and automation, the dream of the “smart home” is finally attainable for middle-class homeowners--not just the owners of custom-built luxury homes,” says Hood. “We founded HBI to capitalize on the tremendous opportunity to update existing homes with cost-effective control/automation systems, as well as the best in home entertainment systems.”

The company launched its first design center in Grass Valley at the beginning of 2005--and this fall, HBI opens the doors on a 2,600-square-foot showroom in Rocklin. The HBI showroom is designed to be much more than a retail store. Its demo rooms provide a luxurious environment where customers can test-drive today’s premier entertainment and home-control systems--and consult with HBI staffers on customizing the system of their dreams.

Executive Biographies

Brian Hood and Dwight Branco are the founding partners of Hood Branco Innovations, Inc.

Prior to co-founding HBI, Brian Hood was a sales professional for AllData and a financial analyst for Investors Bank & Trust in Sacramento. He began his career as a financial analyst for Sanmina-SCI in San Jose. Hood earned B.S. degrees in finance and economics from Cal Poly San Louis Obispo in 2001, and he holds professional certifications from Control4 and the Custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA).

IT veteran and HBI co-founder Dwight Branco served as an IT Supervisor and Senior IT Support Professional at Spectra-Physics Lasers in Mountain View. Branco earned a B.S. in Management of Information Systems from California State University-Chico in 2002, and he holds professional certifications from STI Knowledge, Control4 and CEDIA.
